In late May and early June, neighbors in Maple Creek reported several cars being broken into and items stolen. About a month earlier, other vehicles in Maple Creek were also a target and they were locked and parked in either the street or in the driveway. That activity is on-going, as one of my neighbors had his car burglarized in his driveway in September. In a few cases, the cars were unlocked…in some, they were not.
Please lock your vehicles and remove any items of value or items that could be used to access your property. Remember, while you may feel justified leaving a package in plain sight because it contains nothing of value, the person who breaks out your window or otherwise damages your vehicle doesn’t know that until later, and the result may be hundreds of dollars in repairs for you!
We have reported those earlier burglary activities to DPD. Because such break-ins are a felony, it is required that you, should you become a victim, report such events to the police.
Thank you,
Maple Creek HOA Board
